GRADES/EXAMS
Each of three 80-minute mid-term exams will count for 18% of the course grade, recitation quizes will count for another 18% (after normalizing quiz scores as a percent of the maximum points), and a comprehensive final exam will count for the remaining 28% of the course grade.

To avoid any need for make-up exams, the score on the final exam will be used to replace the lowest score of the 80-minute exams (or an 80-minute exam missed for any reason). In a similar way, the lowest three recitation quiz grades will be dropped before computing a recitation quiz average (no make-up quizes will be given).

Letter grades will be assigned according to the following scale (scores are percentages of the maximum possible points): A (100-90), B+ (89-88), B (87-80), C+ (79-78), C (77-70), D (69-65), F (64-0).

CALCULATORS
For all quizes and exams, students will need a non-programable scientific calculator. Inexpensive examples are here (solar powered). here, and here.

To enter numbers in scientific notation, many calculators have special keys such as "EE" or "EXP". Some videos demonstrating their use are here, here, and here.

HELP
If you need assistance, study tips, or have questions about the course material or homework problems, participate in Q&A live sessions during lecture periods or recitations, or send email to Dr. Huskey (huskey@rutgers.edu).
